Just getting stuff done.  I have a mini factory going....about 7 acoustics and a handful of basses.

Nearly There!

Well,  here is another stunning coco small jumbo.  This guitar is headed to a friend in Ohio, and I believe he will be very pleased with it.  As mentioned, the cocobolo is particularly stunning - and it is counterposed with a flamed mahogany neck.  The top is Carpathian spruce, adorned with 0.06" red heart abalone face purfling.

Banjo work

Yep.  Believe it or not, I am nearly finishing my first banjo....I will keep you posted.

New koa 5 string

Well, I finished rough carving of this beauty today.  Can't wait to get it under finish!

Fretting

Well, I made a solid effort today to finish up this neck.  Finished fretting and made the bridge.  Now I just have to do final sanding and off to finish.

Because I will join the neck after finish, I have elected to wait until I join the neck to level the frets.

This guy was just shipped across the Pacific to a friend in Victoria, AU.  Fundamentally low presence in this guitar, with an incredibly unique aesthetic.

Headstock veneer prep

Just prepping a headstock.  

Pearl top purfling

This is what it looks like to bind in pearl.  Basically you bind the top purfling as normal, but with HDPE strips in place of the pearl.  The after the glue dries, and you prep the top, peel out the plastic, and crush in the pearl.

Comprehensive Binding Effort

Well, I have been working on binding these two guitars.  Both get a full suite, including face purfling.   The spruce is getting a pearl border, hence the use of polyethylene strips.  These will be removed after the glue dries, allowing a channel to insert the pearl strips.

New EIR/ Carpathian GA

Finished this beauty up.  It is absolutely beautiful in its simple elegance.  Seriously one of my favorite guitars to date.

New coco singlecut bass

I made a big push on this guy this weekend...I am happy with the way it is coming out.  It is a coop build with a student of mine....I gave him a bit of a helping hand so we could finish it up
